As an entrepreneurial, business-focused law firm, we know that excellence is never fixed. Like our most successful clients, we are always looking ahead, drawing on the best information possible to identify opportunities and set a course for future success.
What we look for in ourselves, we seek in our associates. If you are a self-motivated, mid-level associate in our core areas of practice with a strong desire to make your mark early, CLRM may be the firm for you.
Our ideal candidate has at least two or three years of law firm experience and is ready to hit the ground running. We don’t expect you to have learned everything there is to know — we’re all in a constant state of improvement, at every stage of our careers — but we do expect that you’ve already nailed the fundamentals and are seeking an opportunity to challenge yourself by working with colleagues and clients at a higher level.
We are looking for associates with broad experience in corporate law and transactions, business litigation, commercial real estate, employment and/or intellectual property. Experience with startups, closely-held and entrepreneurial enterprises and family-owned businesses, especially in the technology, manufacturing and professional services sectors, is a plus.
That said, if you have an area of interest that is related to but not currently a focus of our practice structure, let us know. The business world is constantly changing — what excites you today may be exactly what our clients need tomorrow.
We are not the right firm for everyone. If you don’t seek direct involvement with clients and encouragement to build your own practice, then we are probably not a good fit.
What we offer
Our firm is an important player in the New Hampshire business community. To this end, we support our lawyers’ networking and professional opportunities and encourage every partner and associate to take on responsibilities that raise the firm’s profile and builds their own individual brand,
We believe in mentorship. At CLRM, every associate is assigned a formal advisor. Through periodic reviews and coaching sessions, you will have the opportunity to capitalize on your strengths and develop the skills needed to build a successful practice. Less formal mentoring opportunities are also important: from your first day, you will be working directly with partners and clients on projects that matter while receiving day-to-day guidance and support.
We are a small law firm by design; we believe our size promotes both collegiality and client relationships that offer immediate and long-term rewards. Like players on a baseball field, the word “team” truly means something here — we work together every day, we spend time together outside the office and several times a year, we organize firm dinners and other social events.
If we’ve described what you’re looking for next in your career, we’d love to hear from you. To learn more, please contact Scott Ellison at email@example.com.
